WH4 Hash 1285 – Falls Church, VA

I made an error in my announcement last week.  There are not 10 hashers reading my posts.  There is 1.  Thank you Urine Idiot for taking the time to read my thoughts. 

 

Anyway, the snow has really made hashing cold and challenging but it has still been a blast.  This week will be no different.  We have dedicated hares that are preparing a nice cold and wet trail for you.  According to our wonderful RA, Sunday is going to be sunny and a high of 32.  Mother Nature is going to participate and stop the rain and snow just for WH4, so wear lots of layers and come out to run a great trail.  
 
Also, don't forget to save the date for the WH4 holiday party.  Details are being worked but we will be in Arlington on 23 Jan.

From Route 66:
Take I-66 East or West to get to the Beltway, I-495. Merge onto I-495 South/Capital Beltway, exit 64A. Take exit 50B, US-50/Arlington Blvd. Merge right towards Fairview Park. Merge left towards Fairview Park North. Follow ¾ miles, cross intersection at Lee Highway, to entrance on left.
 
From Interstate 95, South of Springfield, VA:

Take I-95 North towards Washington, DC. I-95 North becomes I-395 North. Take exit 170B, I-495 North/Capital Beltway towards Tysons Corner. Take exit 50B, US-50/Arlington Blvd. Merge right towards Fairview Park. Merge left towards Fairview Park North. Follow ¾ miles, cross intersection at Lee Highway, to entrance on left.
 

From Interstate 395, North of Springfield, VA:

Take I-395 South towards Richmond. Take exit 170B, I-495 North/Capital Beltway towards Tysons Corner. Take exit 50B, US-50/Arlington Blvd. Merge right towards Fairview Park. Merge left towards Fairview Park North. Follow ¾ miles, cross intersection at Lee Highway, to entrance on left.

 

Misc:  Trail is likely A to A- (or so).  Bring a dry bag that includes (at the very minimum) dry shoes, socks and pants.  Seriously.  Expect at least a 4 mile trail even if it's sleeting slit sheets from Sam the sleet shitter.  Seriously.  This hare just don't lie.  Forewarned is for... foreskinned???  Something.  Be prepared.  For all the wimps that don't want to get their feet wet, there will be a shorter dryer walker trail. 

Dog Friendly Factor:  Yes – tough dogs only.  But they will get their feet wet.  Remember it is going to be cold so if you bring your dog, please bring them some dry clothes too.  At a minimum, bring a towel to dry him off with.

Stroller Friendly Factor:  No, sorry… unless you want muddy babies.
