Start: Ft. Slocum Park at the corner of Madison street and Kansas Ave
where it intersects with 2nd St, NW, Washington, DC.

D-erections:

  Metro:  Start is about a mile from the Ft. Totten Metro station (Red,
Yellow or Green Lines; be aware of delays on Green and Yellow lines this
weekend).  Go left when you exit metro and then cut across the park on
the asphalt trail.  This turns into Gallatin Street, NE.  Follow this to
North Capitol Street and turn right. Go north on North Capitol, cross
Riggs Road and New Hampshire Ave.  Turn left on Madison Street.  Start
is in the park at the intersection of Madison St, 2nd St, NW and Kansas
Ave.

  Driving:
       From Virginia:
  Take I-395 North till it ends of New York Ave in
DC.  Turn right onto New York Ave and then right again onto M St, NW,
just after the second traffic light.  At North Capitol St, turn left.
Follow North Capitol street north for about four miles, passing the
Washington Hospital Center and the Old Soldiers Home.  After Passing
through the intersections with Riggs Road and New Hampshire Ave, turn
left onto Madison St.  Start is two blocks down on the right.
       From Maryland:  Take New Hampshire Ave south into the District.
After crossing South Dakota Ave, take a right onto Madison St, NE.
Cross over North Capitol St and the start is two blocks down on the
right.

Misc: A to A.  Dog Friendly, walker's trail stroller friendly.  Bring
dry shoes and Ivy Block just to be on the safe side.
